Laced & Untraced

About

Fentanyl is a synthetic opioid created to have similar effects of morphine. However, the fentanyl being produced is about 50 to 100 times more potent than morphine. In the 90s, the opioid began to be domestically produced and was discovered on the street as heroin called “Tango and Cash”. This batch led to many overdoses and started the authorities on a mission to track down all the laboratories producing it. The fight to reduce the supply of this drug is still ongoing.

What is the impact of fentanyl-laced drugs on young adult populations, and what can be done to help prevent the rapid surge of overdoses?
